Traffic-i
The Trafficmaster system that monitors the motorways and major roads here in the UK is now available for your mobile phone thanks to Traffic-i.
Using GPRS you have live access to road traffic information within seconds, presented to you in a clear easy to use graphical display. Users can navigate quickly and easily move around the UK, zooming into any specific area of interest to view traffic delays. (The current version does not currently determine where you are located with the mobile network).
There are no big GPRS downloads as all the maps are stored locally on the mobile, keeping costs down. A typical high-end user who uses the system 200 times a month could expect downloads totalling 500kb.
The service is available across all UK mobile operators but is only available on some Sony Ericsson and Nokia handsets. To see if your mobile is supported click here.
