3D Body X-Ray
The British Metropolitan Police have been testing out a new X-ray scanner called the Secure 1000.
The scanner can take a 3D image of a person in just 6 seconds, and can highlight whether they are carying any concealed items such as guns and drugs.
The system leaves little to the imagination as it basically strips the person naked, although the system can be modified to add a fig-leaf and blur the persons face.
The system is currently in use at airport customs checkpoints in the USA. Can we expect to see the same here in the UK?
What with the world being targeted by terrorism, I think that this is a small price to pay for peace-of-mind when flying.
