The MS Smartphone has a very neat facility where you can look for a contact using predictive text - now this idea has been adopted for the system/programs menus of the phone by SpaceMonkey with a program called Surreal Start.
The system works on unlocked Smartphone 2002 and Windows Mobile 2003 Smartphones.
