I popped into town lunchtime today and thought that I’d just nip into my local Orange Shop to take a look at this much talked about Orange SPV C500. There was the dummy handset on its display shelf just begging to be looked at. A couple of moments later a very helpful Orange Advisor came along, I asked if I could try one, and with that he took one out of his pocket.
My first impressions - I was pleasantly surprised, the joystick was much different than I had expected, but it ‘felt right’, good move Orange I like it. It was blindingly fast compared to my SPV E100. The one thing that I wanted to see was what the picture quality/capture was like. Again this seemed very impressive - a HUGE improvement on the plug-in camera of my E100.
After only a couple of minutes playing - I succumbed! As my contract had just come to an end last week, it seemed like the ideal opportunity to upgrade to this rather sexy little phone (well it is FREE after all!). I must admit that I kinda had my heart set on the Motorola MPx200, but this small candy bar phone was everything that I have wanted in an MS Smartphone – small, compact, good picture quality, responsive and Bluetooth.
CONGRATULATIONS ORANGE - it’s a superb device!
