Bejeweled 2
I downloaded Bejeweled 2 last night to try out on my Pocket PC. I have been highly addicted to the original Bejeweled which I have on both my Pocket PC and Orange C500.
I was very doubtful that the original game could be improved upon so I was pleasantly surprised to find otherwise. I really did struggle to put the game down last night!
The game itself now has 4 different modes; Classic, Puzzle, Action and Endless. More on those later..
The basics are the same; match coloured jewels in lines of three or more, but this time when you match 4 jewels you get a Time Bomb, this jewel when matched with 2 or more like coloured jewels will explode and take the surrounding jewels with it.
If you match 5 Jewels you get a Hyper Cube. This can be swapped with any surrounding jewel and will make all similar colour jewels anywhere on the screen disappear.
By building up numerous Time Bombs and Hyper Cubes, and if you time them right, you can get bigger chain-reactions and of course bigger scores!
Going back to the different modes, Classic - speaks for itself, Action - is against the clock, and Endless - you’ll never get a game over. The new boy Puzzle is slightly different in that you need to clear all the jewels off of the screen to complete the level. In this game when you successfully remove a set of jewels, they are not replaced. Its kinda along the lines of Microsoft’s Jawbreaker.
All in all a very rounded package - with hours of wasted time assured.
Download for Pocket PC, Palm or even your trusty PC.
