I HATE Delivery Companies!!
As my Pocket PC and my newly acquired Internet Camera all came from the USA, I thought that it was about time that I ordered some proper UK power adapters for them. Currently I am using one rather broken International Travel Adapter, and swapping it between the two devices when required, which is far from ideal.
Anyways, I ordered them last week and I was notified that they would arrive Monday. I pop home from work lunchtime to see if they had been delivered - and see that there was a note pushed through the door to say that they would try delivery again tomorrow, as I was not home. The note said that they had tried at 10am, which is consistent with other deliveries that I have had with this particular courier company.
OK, they say that they will try delivery one more time or else the parcel will go back to the depot (some 40miles away) for collection. My plan was to wait for the delivery at 10am’ish and then go into work a little bit late (which was fine with my Boss).
10am came - no van, 11am came no van, 12pm and 1pm came with no delivery in sight. I phoned work and said the situation, it was either take the rest of the day off to wait or else go into work and then take 1/2 day off in the week to drive to the depot to collect the darn thing! A day’s leave it was then! (Such a waste of valuable leave).
It’s now 2.45pm and there is still no sign of it! I HATE having to take leave to take delivery of something that didn’t even cost me £20!! I HATE DELIVERY COMPANIES… They can never guarantee a time, they wont redirect the delivery elsewhere. You can’t do anything while you’re waiting, like go out, its such wasted time!
Update: My Package finally arrived at 3.45!
