Looks like Apple has finally given its blessing for XP and OSX to live in sweet harmony on their new Intel Macs with the release of Boot Camp. The Beta download is only availabe for a short period of time and is a precursor to the full product that will be part of the new OS Leapord due out at the end of this year.
Seems that all the effort that was spent with getting the OS cracked to run on an Intel box was a waste of time..
I think it can only be a good move for Apple, and possibly P@*% Off Mr Gates a bit! I love the sneaky little comments that Apple have put on their Boot Camp page:
Word to the Wise
Windows running on a Mac is like Windows running on a PC. That means it’ll be subject to the same attacks that plague the Windows world. So be sure to keep it updated with the latest Microsoft Windows security fixes.

Macs use an ultra-modern industry standard technology called EFI to handle booting. Sadly, Windows XP, and even the upcoming Vista, are stuck in the 1980s with old-fashioned BIOS.
For me it does sound quite appealing, although I have been happily using a Mac for just over a year now, the sad fact is that we are in a Windows dominated world - and there are times when you wish you had a PC just to carry out the odd little task that a Mac cant quite do just yet ![]()
