Win one of five invisibleSHIELDsÂ
As all of you gadget lovers out there know, one of the most important things about looking after your valuable accessory is to keep it scratch-free. There is nothing worse than that feeling you get when your gadget has received it’s first bump or scratch.
One of the most important features, and probably most vulnerable, of any gadget is its screen. The quality and size of displays, especially on mobile phones, are getting bigger and better meaning that the potential to get scratched increases.
I am usually very careful with my gadgets, I always keep my mobile in a pocket by itself and am very conscious about never putting anything else in with it such as keys..
You can always protect your gadget in a cover or case, but these usually look bulky or unsightly – and personally I like gadgets because they are not only cool but look sexy – why would I want to cover it up?
As careful as I am I did actually scratch the screen of my Sony Ericisson k750i about a month ago, luckily the scratch wasn’t across the acutal display but just along the edge of of it, gutting, but still not bad for a 10 month-old mobile.
ShieldZone are a company that provide a product called invisibleSHIELD to help protect scratches to a whole host of popular devices, such as mobiles, iPods, PDA’s, digital cameras, GPS units, laptops, and even watches. They are so confident in their product that they offer a lifetime replacement guarantee should your SHIELD become damaged.
Originally designed to protect the leading edges of military helicopter blades from wear and tear while traveling at hundreds of miles per hour, now the SHIELD has been perfected to protect ALL your gadgets.
Having just scratched my k750i, I thought that I’d try out an invisibleSHIELD for it.
The kit comprises of:
- instructions
- squeegee
- a bottle of SHIELDspray application solution
- 1 invisibleSHIELD pre-cut for a K750i.
The application instructions are very straight-forward, they even provide a demonstration video which shows just how easy it really is..
I gave my k750i a quick clean to remove any marks and smears before I set about attaching the SHIELD. I peeled the SHIELD off of its backing paper and sprayed it both sides using the SHIELDspray. Then it was a matter of simply applying it to the screen of my mobile. The spray enables you to maneuver the SHIELD into place very easily, and using the supplied squeegee was able to remove any bubbles. It really was a painless exercise..
The SHIELD is pre-cut to your particular device so it attaches seamlessly. The K750i version has a little nick cut out of the top so that it fits neatly around the phones speaker. You would hardly know that it is there.
Conclusion
The invisibleSHIELD is just what it says on the pack – an invisible shield for your digital life. When attached you really don’t know that it is there, unless you look really close. I would normally say “You really do have to see it to believe it” but in this case there is nothing to see! and thats the beauty of this product.
A couple of years ago I used another protector on a PDA I had, it was a thick film that was placed on the screen, it dulled the screen, and was full of air bubbles, it really wasn’t nice at all, in-fact I removed it shortly afterwards.
The invisibleSHIELD actually turns out to be a very seamless protector to your device, being custom-fit it fits snugly and makes no difference to the quality or view-ability of your screen. For only $11.95* (about £6.50 for us Brits) it really is a small price to pay to keep your much-loved gadgets scratch-free. I’ll definitely be ordering them for my future gadgets! Go order yours today!
