For a very quick and simple way to send somebody a video message, check out hellodeo.
The great thing about Hellodeo is that all you need is a webcam and and web browser! No special software installs required. Using the Flash recorder and player on the Hellodeo homepage, you can quickly record your message, upload to their server and then grab the code so that you can embed the video on your own webpage or email.
The site is very simple in look and feel. Anybody can come along and record a video, which I think perhaps could be open to abuse when the site really takes off. It could be that some registration will be required in future.
It’s such a great idea and so simple to use. Let’s hope that this is just the start of this method of video communication, and that it could lead to various instant messaging systems being able to video message PC to Mac without the current hassles.
