Successfully Upgraded My N95
I had a quick look on the Nokia Software Update Availability checker site yesterday morning and saw that there is now a 11.0.026 firmware update for my CPW N95 - Yeah!
Of course as soon as I got home last night, I had to get that firmware updated! After a quick backup of content I was soon downloading the 113mb file and installing.
I have to say that the whole process was really painless and very quick! The only downside of course is that you need to reinstall some of your applications again.
I have only had a quick play with the new firmware, but my initial impressions are:
- The Menu navigation seems snappier
- The Gallery runs so much smoother
- The Camera plays the shutter click as soon as the button is pressed (no more second or so delay!)
- There appears to be a change in font - seems bolder(?)
- The problem with switching to silent using # has not been fixed!
- The installed Nokia Search is v2.20 Beta which doesnt include My Content Search. Had to manually upgrade to the latest release (v3.05)
I’ll have a play today and report anything else I notice here.
Had no idea a new Search app version was out… and man is it way better or what! They’ve finally included a local memory search function!
I’ve had also no problems updating the firmware. I had to wait until t-mobile is releasing the new version. I only had to register the apps new.
I have upgraded to the latest Firmware 21.0.016 using NSU(after updating the latest) and have very serious problems.I did not debrand the though phone though.
I did a backup and re-installed 3 times and even did a Soft reset *#7370# Hard reset code *#7780# of phone and card 1GB sd Card memory.Re Installed it again in vain.
The Camera stops working and it doesnt evem initilatize. it just gives a flicker and goes back to the menu though my bar code reader is working with the camera.
Secondly i cant see the Youtube videos in the browser i click a youtube video and it streams from my real player and not from the browser after the update to V21.0.
Though i did get an extra 28MB ram and the browser speed is faster.
Can someone please help me to fix this as camera is a vital part in my chosing the N95. Please do not say take it back to the Nokia Care Center and contact Nokia directly. Please help me with a genuine reply. Thanks
i have same problem like # N95SuxAfterV21.0 i upgraded to latest firmware 21.0.016 and now i can’t use my camera … what we must do ??? i was to a center and they did not know what i can do … enyone can help us ???
