Handset makers like Nokia are starting to embed Barcode Readers in their handsets, such as the N95 that enable users to point their handsets at codes for it then to be decoded into text or even URL’s.

Pet Shop Boys have used these mobile codes to point people in the direction of websites about Liberties, Human Rights, ID’s and Counter Terror; a theme for their soon to be released single Integral.

This is the first time that I have seen these codes used is such a commercial way and will hopefully pave the way for these to be used more in the future.
