Nokia’s Advertising-powered Download! Client
Nokia are trialling an advertising-based version of their download! Client to UK residents.
The new beta application will allow for some of the content to be funded by the advertising, meaning that more applications could be free to download. This is an interesting concept as everybody loves free stuff!
Download! is a service available today on Nokia devices. With Download! you can find, try and buy compatible mobile content. We’re testing a new version of Download! that includes banner ads – in the future these ads will fund some of the content available in Download! so you’ll be able to find more free downloads, more often.
To encourage user feedback, Nokia are offering UK residents the opportunity to win a Nokia E65 by submitting feedback on the new Download! application.
The application currently only supports Series 40 handsets (Nokia 6300, 5610, 5310, 7900, 6500 Classic, 6500 Slide) but a Series 60 version is due soon, so watch this space! now avaiable for download here.
