If there is one thing that your Nseries handset loves more than anything – it is cool new software apps to install on it. luckily there have been some great releases in the last few months for your handset. Best of all they can be downloaded for free. Here they are in no particular order:
1 . QIK – Stream live video fast to the world. Right from your phone.
We have all shot video using our Nseries handsets and uploaded them to sites like YouTube and Blip.tv – well now you can record video live from your handset and stream it across the internet in realtime. The app is so simple to install and use. It also gives you the option to record and upload later.
Here is Whatleydude giving a QIK tour of the new Nokia Flagship Store in London.
2. JoikuSpot - Turn your N95 into a WiFi Hotspot.
This is such a simple idea – I cant believe that nobody has done it before. Basically JoikuSpot (Light Beta) turns your N95 into a WiFi Hotspot enabling you to connect your Laptop wirelessly to it and use your phones 3G Internet connection.
I must warn you that it is only in beta, and only allows web browsing (HTTP) traffic for the moment. It also doesn’t feature any wireless security, so use with caution. That being said JoikuSpot works well and is so easy to set-up and run. This is definitely a product to watch this year
3. Online Share 3.0 – Although in beta Online Share 3.0
An upgrade to Nokia’s app that allows you to upload your content to media websites such as Flickr and Vox. New in this edition is the inclusion of the newly announced Share on OVI, Nokias all-in-one online media portal.
If you have previously installed Share Online version 2.0, you will need to uninstall that (via the app manager) in order to get the new Share Online version 3.0 SIS file to install properly.
