Celebrities and an N82
A little while ago I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Figures of Speech Gala Dinner in London. The event sponsored by SpinVox was to raise money for the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) and was an ideal opportunity for me to try out the Nokia N82 that I had recently been loaned.
Hosted by Graham Norton, ten leading cultural figures introduced and explained an object that was personal to them, an object that they could not live without.
With the Nokia N82 to hand I was able to put the camera to the test with a spot of photography and video, and more importantly see if having a xenon flash really does make all the difference. Below are some of things that I captured.
The Gala Dinner, just as everybody was about to be seated:
Where we were sat, and those familiar with the mobile community, may recognise a certain Whatleydude across the table.
One of the ten guests talking during the dinner was Alan Yentob.

The star of the evening was the very lovely Elle McPherson, pictured below, who I managed to snap during the Champagne reception:
As you can see from the photos, the xenon flash really does make such a difference to the quality of night shots in dimly lit rooms. There is no doubt that the picture of Elle above wouldn’t look half as good, if I’d taken it using my N95.
I also took loads of video of the speakers, but I didnt want to bore you with it all, so I just selected an introduction by Graham Norton and a talk by Harry Enfield about his bike. Enjoy!
Special Thanks to James Whatley from SpinVox for the invite to this amazing evening and WOM World for the loan of the N82!
