BBC Launch Higher Quality Podcasts

The BBC have just upped the quality of its BBC Podcasts from 64kbps to 128kbps.  Now you will be able to listen to your favorite show in better quality sound. Yeah!

“When we launched the podcast service in 2007, we had only speech-based podcasts, and we felt that 64kbps mono was a nice compromise between sound quality and download time/bandwidth usage.”

Times have now changed and with the introduction of music clips in their podcasts, the BBC felt that it was time to up the quality to 128kbps stereo.  Good news for us with iPods and compatible mobile phones.
