Sky+ Remote Record is now available for the iPhone!
I received news this morning that a new app has hit the App Store called TV Plus. A UK TV Guide that supports Sky+ Remote Record.
At an introductory price of £2.99 this is a must have application for any iPhone user that has Sky+ here in the UK.
From what I have seen the app looks awesome! I have been waiting for something like this to arrive!
The developer has stated that the first update is already in development with more features. Nice work!
The Interface is slick and loads the Sky+ Planner very fast. Its easy to get to the programme that you want either by selecting the Channel type (entertainment, etc.) and then the channel and day that you require, finally presenting you with the programme synopsis and a big red record button. Search also works very fast. Requests sent via the TV Plus app appear in the Sky+ box Planner in a matter of seconds!
Currently the app lists BBC1 as ‘BBC 1 London’ and ITV1 as ‘ITV1 London’, with regional variations at the end of the list. I test recorded a programme from BBC1, to see if it would just record my channel 101 (BBC 1 West) but it appeared as ‘BBC1 London’ on my Sky+ Box. Hopefully you will be able to select your own regional BBC and ITV channels in a future update.
I am thoroughly impressed with the TV Plus iPhone app. It all works very well. I guess my only criticism is not having the correct regional channels for BBC1 and ITV, but I’m sure that they are working on that in the next update. [Update - this has been resolved in the latest update.]

I would have thought so, as the Sky+ Planner is the same.. Although I don’t have HD to actually test..

DP – no the signal to your Sky+ box is beamed down to your box via your dish in a matter of seconds.
How about a feature that allows to browse by channels, not just by genre?

Have had this application for a while, using it as a Tv Guide whilst I waited for my Sky+HD to be installed. One question though, does it cost you anything to use the Remote Recording. I had seen somewhere that you can be charged 25p for a ‘Confirmation’ text.
Can anyone confirm this ?
Alex – It does not cost anything to use the TV Plus app. I think that there is a one off confirmation text just to verify your phone with Sky.
