For all your retro fans out there, you may be interested to hear that the cult classic R-Type has been officially launched for your mobile by Elite Systems today.
They have been kind enough to provide a full working demo of the game which can be downloaded from their site or alternatively point your phones web/wap browser to www.elite.mobi. The java game is available for a variety of handsets including the N73 & N95 specifically.
First launched in 1987 as an Irem arcade game, R-Type was said to have “the most visually intriguing screen graphics ever to come to the video arcade”. Consequently R-type was transported to home computer formats and sold more than a million throughout Europe / Australasia.

I downloaded it, but it is soooooo difficult…almost too difficult. Can’t make it over level 4…
