Just as I expected - false promises - today (Friday 11th) was the day that I was supposed to get my hands on my pre-ordered 16GB iPhone 3G, and guess what it never arrived!
Annoying enough that I was still iPhone-less, today (Tues 15th) was also the day that o2 ported my 3UK number across to their network. I find it amazing how quick o2 were to take my money and to get me onto their network - Woo-Hoo I'm activated on ... Read More

So the big day has come and gone - the day that the world went iPhone 3G crazy. People queued, some for hours, to get their hands on the latest version of Apple's iPhone. Were you one of them?
[youtube 8NbNZ1DaGUY]
I think that we all agree that the iPhone 3G is what the original iPhone should have been. You may recall that I bought myself an iPhone (2G) back in April, and as much as I loved it the lack of 3G and ... Read More

I watched the Apple iPhone 3G Keynote Speech by Steve Jobs recently and was interested to see the comparison that he made with the Nokia N95 and Treo 750 when it came to surfing the net, claiming that the new 3G iPhone is 36% faster.
Steve commented " You get a full web page on the iPhone and quite a bit less on these other products.." when showing a page from the National Geographic being loaded on each of the handsets.
I know that ... Read More

OK - I really could not resist temptation any longer and picked myself up an Apple iPhone yesterday!
For those of you in the UK, you'll probably be aware that o2, who exclusively have the iPhone, slashed £100 off the price of the 8GB iPhone to £169 as it would appear that the handset is going 'end of line'.
I have been toying with the idea of just getting an iPod Touch since that first appeared, but now that the 8GB iPhone is cheaper ... Read More

Apple is expanding its retail stores here in the UK with a new outlet opening in Bristol sometime in November this year. The new store will be part of the major new re-development in the City Centre called Cabot Circus.
Like the saying goes 'They come along like buses' as this will be the second Apple Store to open in the South West of England within a year, with the last Apple Store opening at Princesshay, Exeter last November. Read More

Leading up to the launch of the iPhone here in the UK, the BBC News ran a spoof video similar to "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ads by Apple comparing the iPhone to the N95. I tried to get hold of a copy of this at the time but the BBC media player doesnt allow you to embed it's videos..
Anyways for those who missed it - here it is again on YouTube!

The new Apple Store in Exeter in the recently built Princesshay Shopping Quarter opened it's doors for the first time this morning. This now brings the number of UK Apple Stores to 13, unlucky for some - but lucky for us Brits in the South West of the UK!
Of course I was armed with my Nokia N95 to capture some pictures of the first hour of business:
With queues already snaking away from the Store at 9am, some people had obviously arrived ... Read More
