I took a walk up on the hills today with Harvey armed with the funky new 3 Skype Phone to check out the photo quality of this little handset. The camera is 2.0 mega-pixel which is a little less than what I am used to with my Nokia N95. although there is no auto-focus, the simple point and shoot is great for quickly taking snaps - something that I find a pain on the N95. A week or so after getting hold of the one of the amazing Skype Phones from 3 I finally got around to uploading an un-boxing video to YouTube.

The video is the usual ceremony which then leads onto a tour around the handset and a very quick look at some of the phones features.

VoIP big boys Skype have joined forces with mobile network 3 to launch a revolutionary new Skype Mobile Phone imaginatively called 3 Skypephone. The new Voice over IP (VoiP) handset will launch on 2nd November in Italy and the UK with Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong and Sweden coming soon.
