Googlebar for Firefox

I see that Google have released a toolbar for Firefox.

I’m pleased to see that it includes the very handy Spellcheck which I use when creating these articles in MovableType - which was sadly lacking from Googlebar.

Nice one Google!

iPod Mini

I am now the proud owner of an iPod Mini!

It was all a bit sudden and unplanned…

As I knew that my holiday to Portugal was going to a nice relaxing time, I of course needed some music. I had planned to use my C500 as my media player as I did for my trip to the USA last year, but me being me left everything to the last minute.. I needed some new music as the existing tracks were installed for my last holiday.. The problem was that all my music was now on a Mac in iTunes!

The night before the flight I was up for a couple of hours trying to get my C500 synced via Bluetooth to my Mac Mini. This is not the easiest of tasks using the rather clunky PocketMac. I tried and I tried, but do you think that I could get it to Sync iTunes’ PocketMac playlist? After resorting to manually trying to copy one song to my phone via Bluetooth, I realised that this was not the smartest idea unless I wanted to be sat waiting until Christmas for my music to transfer… So I gave up..

The following morning after finishing all the packing, we had a couple of hours until we needed to head of to the airport.. The discussion of music arose with my other-half.. What were we gonna do? I jokingly said “lets get some iPods” as we had half-heartily talked about getting some a week-or-so-ago. A Shuffle? but that wasn’t any better than my C500 in terms of functionality so we agreed that for an extra 39quid we could get a 4gig MP3 player that could hold nearly 1,000 songs…

“Ok, if we are gonna do it, we need to go now..” came the response from my other-half… So excitedly we dropped everything and sped off to the out-of-town shopping complex. We get to Comet - they didn’t stock any.. next PC World - they only had the 6GB (too expensive), Curry’s didnt have any either… Feeling a little deflated, as we were aware that we didnt have much time before we need to depart for the airport, we headed off into town and tried Argos… yeah they had 13 in stock.. 2 iPod Minis please… After whizzing home and letting iTunes select the music to go onto our iPods we had just about enough time for its recommended minimum 1 hour charge!

Shame we didnt have a power adapter to recharge on holiday tho! That’s another story!

Have ya missed me?

All has been a bit quiet recently, as I have been away basking in the Portugal sun for 9 days, in a rather nice town called Albufeira. It’s so great to be back to the usual dull, drab, wet British Summer… NOT! In typical fashion I hear that there was a bit of a heat-wave when I was away!
The holiday was just what I needed - a total chill-out, relax on the beach, drink-a-little-bit affair… So different than my marathon sightseeing adventure of last year!

Oh well back to reality..

Lost

The hit US show Lost will finally be shown here in the UK from August 10th on Channel 4.

This is nearly a year after I saw all the promotional billboards during my trip to the USA last September! I have heard so much about it during my trip and on various websites since, and have started to wonder if it was ever gonna be shown here in the UK…

Seems that Channel 4 changed their mind from showing the series back in January because of the success another ABC show by the name of Desperate Housewives.

Roll on August..
