For today’s review we will look at the stylish iPad Flip Case available from the folks at Gearzap.com. This case helps protect and conceal the user’s iPad in a classic folio style case. Its design is reminiscent of a fine leather wallet as it is composed of a pebble grain leather on the outside and has a soft microsuede interior.
It is well padded and sturdy enough to protect the iPad from life’s minor hazards. This case helps provide the iPad with a professional look and will not seem out of place in the office or boardroom.
Info:
This classic leather style folio is custom designed to protect the iPad. Made from quality materials, the iPad slides inside for all round protection against bumps and scratches – ideal for ‘on the go’ professionals and students.

What’ in the Box?
The iPad Flip Case arrives in a clear unlabelled protective bag. It comes with a foam insert to help maintain the inner iPad sleeve section’s form.
As the name suggests this iPad case is a flip version as opposed to a book style opening case. The case is offered in Pink, Purple, Red, Black and Blue versions; today’s review unit is the Blue model.
The exterior is composed of a pebble grain leather material with blue stitching around the perimeter. There is a magnetic clasp at the bottom of the front cover. Flipping the cover up reveals the iPad sleeve which keeps the Apple device in place by sliding it through an opening at the top.
All four sides are also covered by leather with openings for the speakers, dock connector and volume/orientation switches. Strangely there is no opening for headphone access and power button with the flip cover closed.
On the inside of the cover flap is the miscrosuede material which helps keep the iPad screen from getting scratched. In addition there are three card pockets and a banded section for keeping business and credit cards secure.
Both the front and back of the case are rigid with some padding for protection.
Usage:
After using the iPad Flip Case for a few days I found it to be a well designed case that can protect one’s iPad from daily bumps and minor hazards; in fact a Post It container fell off the desk and onto the closed Flip Case. Needless to say the iPad housed within was unharmed.
The iPad is securely kept in position via the inner sleeve. The clasp does a good job at keeping the case secured and is easily opened and closed.
The card holder is a nice added feature as it can keeps credit and business cards safe and readily available.
Holding the iPad Flip Case was comfortable as it has a good grip and does not feel like it will slip out of one’s hands.
Although it is a good case, it is not perfect. The clasp does tend to get in the way when the case is open for iPad viewing. It would be nice if this clasp could fold back and attach to the flipped over cover to make the case into a stand. This is not a tremendous issue, just merely an annoyance.
Conclusion:
Overall the iPad Flip Case is a well designed iPad case. It offers protection while providing a classic leather folio appearance. With the iPad housed within it would be hard to tell you are carrying the Apple tablet. It is not perfect as the clasp does tend to get in the way and the headphone jack is covered up when the Flip Case is closed. But these are minor complaints and do not affect the overall usability of the case too much.
If you are in need of a classic looking iPad case then the iPad Flip Case is one you should check out.
