What’ in the Box?
It’s not really a box, more of an envelope, a clear one.
I like The Beatles, and they have several Beatles themed skins, but I chose the Yellow Submarine one.
Here’s the skin and my nano:
Usage:
The skin for the iPod nano 5th is a single piece with cut-outs for the microphone, camera and click wheel, but there’s also a skin for the wheel as well.
The skins are made of adhesive material, specifically their Controltac material.
Here’s a quote from the 3M site regarding it:
“Durable, dimensionally stable, vinyl film with positionable, pressure-activated adhesive (permanent, changeable or removable) that allows film to be repositioned on the application surface during installation.”
To me it feels very durable, it’s sticky but not very much and there’s a faint cross pattern in it as well.
Applying it, you’ll need to clean the product first of course. After that I thought it was going to be easy to apply since it was a single sheet, but it took me a few tries to get it just right.
I also applied the click-wheel skin to complete the look.
The back is meant to be viewed sideways of course:
There’s small cut-outs for the camera and microphone, I couldn’t get it exactly centered but it works for me.
Then here’s a close up of the click-wheel. The skin doesn’t interfere with the usage either.
The skin wraps around the nano and yes there’s a seem on the side, but it blends in well:
With the skin on it still fits perfectly fine in my Speck PixekSkin case:
Conclusion:
MusickSkins are great products really to protect your products and to add a bit of style or personal touch to them.
